Experience the strange, often surreal, world of Chickenfüt and you'll never hear a “Cock-a-Doodle-Do” in the same way again!

When an awkward German exchange student is possessed by the spirit of his prized chicken named Gisela, he is given the power to fight back, avenging both the murder of his hen and his cruel treatment at the hands of school bullies.

Set in period non-specific rural America, this 18-minute black comedy parodies the supernatural thriller genre, illuminating the rural legends of Chickenfüt -- a cautionary tale of a boy, his chicken, and their paranormal quest for barnyard justice.

Gunter takes refuge in caring for the chickens of the farm of his host parent Sadie. He is immediately drawn to the large, alpha hen whom he lovingly names Gisela. He sings German lullabies to the taciturn hen while offering her cracked corn and juicy bugs.

Their touching friendship is not without its travails: one day Gisela is startled and she bites Gunter. This seemingly innocent wound becomes a portal into the world of supernatural possession. But it's not until rough bully-boys kill Gisela that the exact nature of this fateful injury becomes known.

Through the oozing bite, Gisela and legions of other unfortunates cluck instructions that guide Gunter to fashion a grotesque implement with which to exact his revenge. Roosting in an old tree, Gunter works all night scratching a large chicken claw out of a tree branch.

Thus is born Chickenfüt.
